About the Exhibition
Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) proudly presents the 2025 Art Phoenix Exhibition, an inspiring showcase of creativity and resilience. This event marks the culmination of a series of workshops led by acclaimed artist Luke Thurgate, designed for members of the BGF community living with HIV.
Join us from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to celebrate the opening of this remarkable exhibition, featuring unique artworks that tell stories of courage, expression, and healing. The evening will also include an exciting opportunity to purchase these unique artworks with 100% of the proceeds from sales going directly to the talented artists.
What is Art Phoenix?
Art Phoenix is a flagship program in BGF’s Health and Wellbeing suite and is the longest-running initiative of its kind in Australia. Over four weeks, participants engage in a series of art workshops led by a local art tutor, focusing on various artistic forms and techniques.
The program encourages participants to draw inspiration from their life experiences of living with HIV. The workshops aim to transform perspectives on HIV and enhance quality of life through the power of art.
Recognising the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of creative expression, Art Phoenix stands as Australia’s only contemporary art program dedicated to raising awareness about HIV while empowering artists living with HIV.
