Every day, 35% of our clients face the harsh reality of housing insecurity, including sleeping rough on the streets and struggling to survive. But with your help, we can provide the support they need to survive and thrive.
Homelessness is not just about lacking shelter—it’s about facing isolation, the absence of family support, mental health struggles, physical hardships and managing their HIV status in such difficult conditions.
With as little as $5 a month, you can make a meaningful difference in the life of someone enduring these challenges.

At 27, Robert has faced more challenges than most. Living with HIV for over a decade, he struggles with housing insecurity, couch surfing at a friend’s place occasionally in Western Sydney. Fearing stigma, he hides his status, worried his friend might ask him to leave if the truth comes out.
Robert’s situation is complicated by visa issues that limit his ability to work, leaving him without Medicare or a stable income.
When Robert turned to BGF, his caseworker stepped in, providing advocacy, housing support, legal referrals and access to food banks. To combat his isolation, Robert joined BGF’s Health and Wellbeing programs, building connections and a sense of belonging.
Though his journey isn’t over, Robert now has hope. With BGF’s support, he is taking steps toward stability and a brighter future.
Become a friend of BGF with our monthly donor program and support those facing homelessness today – all for the cost of a cup of coffee once a month.
