A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible supporters and volunteers who made our recent ICONS Trivia fundraiser a resounding success!
The night was filled with glamour and excitement as more than 200 iconic supporters gathered at Paddo RSL for a fabulous night of fun and fundraising for a good cause!
Together, we raised over $25,000, enabling BGF to enhance the quality of life for people living with HIV. Your support means the world to us, and we are truly grateful.

Hannah Conda joins the BGF family
We were excited to announce Hannah Conda as BGF's newest Community Ambassador on the night.
Hannah has been supporting HIV causes for a number of years now through appearances at BGF’s fundraising events and supporting ACON’s Red Ribbon Appeal. Through her platform, she has consistently used her voice to promote equality, acceptance, and love, aligning perfectly with BGF's mission.
Hannah took to the stage to express her excitement in joining the BGF family as an Ambassador, which you can watch below.
Paying tribute to Simon Dunn
We also celebrated the life and amazing work of BGF's Inaugural Community Ambassador, Simon Dunn who passed away earlier this year.
BGF Ambassador Steve Spencer made a touching tribute to Simon saying:
"Simon gave tirelessly to those around him and he gave back so much to his communities - Si demonstrated what an excellent HIV ally looks like, he fought HIV stigma and supported the most vulnerable people in our community at every opportunity and he leaves us an inspiring legacy."
BGF presented a memorial frame and plaque, which will be displayed in our reception so that we never forget the contributions he made through his allyship to people living with HIV and the wider LGBTQIA+ community.
You can watch the video below.
The fabulous duo - Joyce and Portia
The most iconic Joyce Maynge and Portia Turbo were on fine form again this year, both performing fantastic spot numbers and being the hosts with the most throughout the evening.
Portia channelled her inner Boy George as she sashayed across the stage, while Joyce finished the night with Kylie’s Padam Padam smash hit – complete with tantalizing flashes of her red knickers!
We are so grateful to them both for always bringing such great energy, banter and lots of laughs!
Our P&O Pride Cruise MEGA raffle winner!
A big congratulations to Glen Armener, who was the winner of our P&O Pride Cruise MEGA raffle! The room cheered as he gasped in shock at his win!
Glen said, "The past year has been one of the hardest years for me. Winning the Pride Cruise will allow me to have some time to enjoy life again with the LGBTQIA+ community! Thank you BGF for all the assistance you give to PLHIV!"
