Matt Rule
Matt Rule is an HIV advocate and Community Ambassador for the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF). Living with HIV for 12 years, Matt's journey has been marked by a commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding the virus, something he has himself battled with since his diagnosis.
He brings valuable perspectives, including insights into navigating HIV in both heterosexual and same-sex relationship dynamics, perspectives on prevention and treatment in prison settings, and challenges faced in seeking HIV care in rural areas
As an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Matt contributes significantly to community events and education/advocacy initiatives. He has shared his lived experience in World AIDS Day & Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day campaigns, featured on the PozVibe Podcast and led many HIV/AIDS Harm Minimisation Sessions in residential rehabilitation services.
Well-connected to PLHIV issues, Matt engages with peers, BGF clients, and attends various community events, showcasing a commitment to amplifying diverse voices. Through blog articles and multimedia content on BGF's social media platforms, Matt disseminates crucial information, reflecting his dedication to research and communication.
