Iyengar Yoga (Gentle Yoga) can be adapted for all bodies, lived experiences and conditions. We use simple household props — like chairs — to make poses accessible to all. In Iyengar Yoga, we will move, open the body, tune into the breath, and calm the mind.
Handy props to have:
- Yoga mat, chair, towel (for folding, not for sweat!) and a pillow.
Even if you don't have all of these props you can still participate in the class. Just bring yourself!!!
The benefits of this style of practice include an improved range of movement, improved muscle, joint health, better feeling of overall wellness, a calmer mindset, more resilient nervous system and better mental health.
